Every day there are many babies that die of abortion or are in danger of abortion. Spiritual adoption is where you spiritually “adopt” an unborn baby in danger of abortion. Spiritually adopting them means that you promise to pray for them every day for nine months, which is the usual amount of time that babies are in the womb. I am going to share a beautiful prayer and pledge with you that was written by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. I learned about spiritual adoption a little over two years ago and I love doing this. The prayer and the pledge will be below. I will also list an example of how you do the pledge under it. Another cool thing about this is that you get to name the baby you’re praying for. The prayers will go towards the protection of a baby in the womb who would be named that.

Prayer:

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of [baby’s name] the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.”

Pledge:

“I, [your name here], spiritually adopt [baby’s name]. I will commit to saying the prayer above every day for 9 months in order to save their life from abortion.”

(You can put the date from when you pledge to say the prayer until the month and day that it ends under the pledge)

My Pledge:
I, Elizabeth Gorski, spiritually adopt Philomena. I will commit to saying the prayer above every day for 9 months in order to save her life from abortion.
