The Riverboat Adventures/Freedom Seekers

Then one day she returns to live with her father on his steamboat.  While adjusting to her new life, she becomes friends with Caleb, the cabin boy, who assists her father in aiding fugitive slaves.  The Riverboat Adventures/Freedom Seekers is a six-book series that deals with the years prior to the Civil War and the topic of slavery.  The Riverboat Adventures was later re-named Freedom Seekers, so one might find both titles on shelves when searching.  This is suitable for ages 12 and up.

Viking Quest Series
