The 2025 March for Life was quite the event. Being held on Friday, January 24th, in Washington, DC, the event was packed with many incredible speakers. Vice President J. D. Vance, Bethany Hamilton, Gov. Ron DeSantis, Jennie Bradley Lichter, Josiah Presley, and Lila Rose were in the lineup, to name a few.

Recent alumnus, JohnPaul Pascale (MODG ’24), who is currently a freshman at Franciscan University, drove in an overnight caravan of buses as a first-time attendee at the DC March for Life. In recalling his experience, he shared, “There were quite a few MODGers. Out of the people I hung out with throughout the day, there were probably easily 15-20, which was pretty neat to see.”

Many MODG families, who live in and around the DC area, annually attend the March for Life. Current MODG Junior, Damian Deitchman, stated, “We try to go every year, but sometimes we can’t make it. We have gone around 7 or 8 times.” This year Damian marched with his older brother, Luke (MODG ’24), as well as the Duplantiers, another MODG family.

Damian explained, “I think what is most important to me about ‘marching for life’ is that, even though I am only one of hundreds of thousands of people who do so, it is a witness to the commitment that I, personally, am dedicated to protecting life.”

When asked about the experience overall, JohnPaul expressed, “I can say that it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. It is really an incredible thing, to watch so many people gather, especially for such a good and obviously needed cause. We were united with this community of people, advocating for the life of the unborn. And I wanted to be a part of that because I agree that the unborn should have rights, and that abortion is obviously evil.”
Going to the March for Life is an impactful and concrete opportunity our generation has to show the world how much we truly care about the lives of unborn babies!
