Meet Your Teacher: Emily Paluszak

Three months earlier, I had asked God specifically for a Catholic husband. One Sunday morning before Mass, I was going to the choir room to rehearse, and I passed the coffee and doughnut table where parishioners from the earlier Mass had just cleared out . There he was working for the hospitality committee.

I was in the running for parish council, and voting was that day. He said, “So, have you prepared your acceptance speech yet?”  We began a conversation that continues to this day. Twenty-four years later, he still serves coffee and doughnuts every Sunday morning.

We were married 10 months later. He had asked God specifically for a Catholic wife. “Ask and you shall receive.” Emily Paluszak
