The third week of the presidency has seen everything from executive orders to a record-breaking vote in the Senate. Check out the following!
Monday 2/6: In Florida, President Trump gives “remarks” at the MacDill military post, stating that MacDill would receive “a lot of equipment.”
Tuesday 2/7: The Vice-President, Mr. Michael Pence, breaks a Senate tie vote, creating Elisabeth (Betsy) DeVos as Secretary of Education. Ms. DeVos was put forth by President Trump and submitted to the Senate for election. See VOX’s article on VP Pence’s significant vote here.
Thursday 2/9: President Trump issues an executive order to help keep different kinds of policemen safe.
Friday 2/10: Dr. Price, a previous member of both the Georgia Senate and the U.S. Congress, is inducted as Secretary of Health and Human Services by Vice-President Michael Pence. Vice-President Pence describes Dr. Price as “the most principled expert on health care policy in the House of Representatives, if not the entire Congress.”
